Dermatology Nurse Specialist Role: Delivering High-Quality Patient Care

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse with dermatology experience to join our team as a Band 7 Nurse Specialist. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to patients in Norfolk and Waveney.
Main Duties- You will work in all nurse-led clinics, undertaking activities such as minor skin surgery, cryotherapy, Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), skin cancer treatment, isotretinoin, biologics, and other systemic drug therapies.
- As a Dermatology Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert evidence-based advice on the care of people with dermatological conditions.
- You will coordinate service provision, providing professional expertise, care, and support to those needing treatment for dermatological conditions and their families.
- Your clinical practice will be in line with the 'Dermatology Nursing Competencies: Developing dermatology nurses from novice to expert.'
- You will be an active member of the dermatology team and contribute to the wider professional agencies involved in dermatology services.
- You will develop key working relationships with the multi-professional team, including intermediate dermatology nursing staff, nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals, and support workers.
- You will assist in maintaining and developing systems and strategies to promote and enhance the delivery of care to patients.
- You will actively engage in promoting best standards of clinical care and cost-effective delivery of that care, including medicines management and resource utilization.
- You will provide clinical advice and support for patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals in the treatment and management of dermatological conditions and its complications.
- You will participate in the maintenance and development of local and national service initiatives to provide the highest standards of care in line with accepted best clinical practice.
- You will possess a qualification related to dermatology or relevant professional experience.
- You will have evidence of ongoing professional development.
- You will be a Non-Medical Prescriber or achieve this within 24 months of commencing the post.
- You will have recent experience in dermatology at Band 6 level in a dermatology department.
- You will be able to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge base within dermatology.
- You will be able to liaise and communicate with the Primary Care team and contribute to their objectives in the care of their dermatology patients.
- You will have experience of writing protocols, policies, and guidelines.
