Financial Controller Assistant

As a key member of the Markerstudy Group finance team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making, including variance analysis and trend identification.
- Collaborate with the financial controller to ensure accurate and timely financial close, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external auditors.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and implementation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Desire to learn and grow, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Sound knowledge and experience of working with ERP and finance systems.
- Strong technical understanding of accounting standards and regulatory reporting.
- Strong IT skills specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Good business acumen with commercial thinking.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels.
