English Curriculum Lead

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated English Educator to join our team as a Lead Practitioner of English. This role is responsible for driving the English curriculum forward, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across the department.
The successful candidate will have a flair for leadership and a drive for excellence, with a strong background in teaching and a deep knowledge of the English curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Practice: Develop and implement creative teaching methods that engage and motivate students.
- Curriculum Expertise: Ensure deep knowledge of the English curriculum, assessment, and strategies for driving student progress.
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR dependent on experience
Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Job Type: Full-time
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English Educator to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on the teaching and learning within the department.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving student outcomes and will be able to provide guidance and support to colleagues.
Essential Criteria- Education: Qualified Teacher Status, Relevant Degree, Experience of teaching in the 11-16 sector
- Experience: Prioritise, plan and organise, Act as a role model for pupils and staff by setting high personal and professional standards, Motivate and inspire pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community
- Current educational issues, Strategies for raising standards, Effective learning and teaching strategies, Key Stage 3 National Curriculum and AQA Key Stage 4 Secondary Specifications for Language and Literature
- Enjoy working with, and for, young people, as well as adults, Excellent communication skills able to engage a variety of audiences, Ability to analyse issues and think both creatively and strategically, Problem solving skills
