About Toft Newton Parish Council

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Parish Council Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our parish council, ensuring the smooth running of our meetings and tasks.

The role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing agendas and minutes, and managing correspondence. Additionally, the Parish Council Clerk will be responsible for financial tasks, including budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Preparing agendas and minutes for parish council meetings
  • Managing correspondence and communications with residents and other stakeholders
  • Assisting with financial tasks, including budgeting and invoicing
  • Providing administrative support to the parish council

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with experience in administrative roles, preferably in a local government or similar environment. A knowledge of local councils and their functions is beneficial, but not required.

We offer a competitive salary, SCP 9-11 (£13.06-£13.50 per hour), plus a working from home allowance (£26.00 per month) and mileage reimbursement (£0.45 per mile). Annual leave entitlement is 16.8 hours, and a laptop will be provided for council use.
