Job Title: Welfare and Safeguarding Expert

We are seeking an experienced Welfare and Safeguarding Expert to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and safety of students within Eastern Colleges Group.

About the Role:

  • Act as Professional full-time DSL manager for the group of schools within Eastern Colleges Group and provide support for school DSLs.
  • Coordinate policies, processes and training, ensuring best practice models are used.
  • Visit all school provision regularly and meet with the trained DSLs and support them with safeguarding issues on a daily basis.
  • Organise the safeguarding Top 10 Meeting weekly to discuss high-risk cases.
  • Investigate complaints, and work with parents and mediate between school and families as needed.
  • Work closely with other Heads of Welfare and Safeguarding within Eastern Colleges Group to ensure our processes, practices and resources match each provision allowing for uniqueness.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in welfare and safeguarding with an emphasis on students with SEND.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to assess risks and support school staff to make referrals.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment.
