About the Role

Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team at Permanent Futures.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of selling and engineering products for other manufacturers or engineering businesses.

The appointed Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities with new customers in a market of their choosing.

This is a 100% new business development role, requiring a hunter salesperson who can get their foot in the door with prospective customers and turn them into active accounts.

The Business Development Manager will work closely with a team of technical sales consultants to get the client on board and then pass them on to the technical sales consultant who can handle the sales cycle from there.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Establishing relationships with designated customers
  2. Planning, preparing, and delivering responses (inclusive of presentations) to prospective customers
  3. Maintaining a Customer Relationship Management database accurately and in a timely manner and producing a monthly sales report
  4. Promoting and developing the corporate image and reputation and contributing to the overall business development plan
  5. Maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and providing the Managing Director with market activity feedback
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  1. Experience selling an engineered product and/or suction into manufacturing or engineering businesses
  2. Excellent proposal presentation skills
  3. Confident working in an autonomous role (you'll get supported but will be relied on to be the self-starter the team needs)
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues at all levels
  5. Prior experience in a 100% new business development role
