About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for Secondary Schools in Ashington, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and external agencies for a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with secondary school students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support or related fields.

Compensation: £75-£100 per day
