About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with varied Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behavior on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. This may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD, as well as providing Personal Care when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of various pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.
  • To support pupils in their educational and personal development, promoting positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • To work proactively and resiliently in a fast-paced environment, managing challenging behaviors and adapting to changing circumstances.
Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired).
  • Experience of working with children in schools in the UK.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
  • Two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
