Job Title: Senior Children Services Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Children Services Practitioner to join our team in Croydon. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing leadership and expertise in the delivery of positive safety and well-being outcomes for children.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Practitioner will report to the Team Manager and will be responsible for providing leadership of practice through exemplary direct work, development of staff, and specialist focused on a given area of practice. You will be an expert practitioner who directly delivers or contributes to the delivery of positive safety and well-being outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage and build relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Hold cases and provide high-quality assessments and reports.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based plans to support children and families.
  • Provide direct help and support to children and their families.
  • Match children and families with relevant services and agencies.
  • Coordinate multi-professional and agency input to assessment, planning, and help.
  • Apply theoretical frameworks and models to all aspects of practice.
  • Support the development of creative and innovative assessments and planning.
  • Deliver to performance standards consistently across the measures within the journey of the child.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker and up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
  • Foundation level systemic practice qualification desirable.
  • Practice Educator or Practice Teacher qualification desirable.
  • Knowledge of national policy, strategy, and developments regarding children's social care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant theoretical frameworks, practice models, and research findings.
  • Knowledge of models of reflective supervision that impact on practice and outcomes.
