Job Title: Senior Children Services Practitioner

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Children Services Practitioner to join our Family Assessment Service team in Croydon Council. As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide leadership and expertise in direct work with children and families, developing staff and specialist skills in a given area of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality direct work with children and families, ensuring positive safety and well-being outcomes.
  • Support staff development and growth, promoting a culture of excellence in practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based plans, ensuring effective coordination with multi-professional agencies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on systemic practice, theoretical frameworks, and research findings.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with quality assurance frameworks and legislative requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
  • Foundation level systemic practice qualification (desirable).
  • Practice Educator or Practice Teacher qualification (desirable).
  • Knowledge of national policy, strategy, and developments in children's social care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of theoretical frameworks, practice models, and research findings.
