About the Role

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in a 2-bed children's residential service in Droitwich. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 14-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
  • Support poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or within a similar social care setting or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time.
  • Must be over the age of 21.
  • Must be an empathetic and relatable person with good listening and communication skills and a natural instinct to help others.
