Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Chef/Cook to join our team at Clarendon Care Group Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality meals for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents, adhering to a four-week rotating menu and catering to special dietary requirements.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen assistants, ordering stock, and maintaining food safety records.
  • Ensure the kitchen area is always clean and tidy, minimizing waste and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the care team to understand residents' needs and preferences, providing personalized meal options when possible.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar environment, preferably in residential care or hospitality.
  • Food hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Safer Foods Better Business principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly residents.
