Business Development Manager

About the Role
L&S Waste Management is seeking an experienced Business Sales professional to join our team. As a Business Sales representative, you will be responsible for promoting and generating revenue for our services in the SO post code areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate revenue for our services by managing and maximizing key account customers and expanding existing business.
- Promote and develop awareness of our services in the local and surrounding market areas.
- Establish and build upon long-term profitable business relationships with key contacts within existing and new business opportunities.
- Review our existing customer base within the SO post code areas.
- Organize sales and marketing campaigns, as well as advertising, where necessary.
- Examine our market share.
- Produce concise weekly reports on your activities.
- Liaise with other sales team members to ensure excellent communication and forward sales leads and business opportunities.
- Provide quotation information to the Business Development Administrator.
- Monitor and increase the number of account customers.
- Record prospects and client activity and follow up as appropriate.
- Use Glenigan leads and other planning leads to assist in generating new business on a weekly basis.
- Keep up-to-date with market changes and legislation.
Requirements
- A proven track record and relevant experience within the waste, building, or construction industries.
- Must have some experience in the building industry, either through a builders merchant or direct business-to-business sales.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and IT skills.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information.
- Working knowledge of Sage ACT or a similar system.
- Experience of working within a busy and fast-paced environment.
- The ability to remain calm and patient when under pressure.
- The ability to multi-task and use your own initiative.
- Positive, self-motivated, and proactive.
What We Offer
- Salary: £30,000 pa – £35,000 pa (dependent upon experience), an account management bonus (which could be up to £10k pa to £12k pa), and commission/new business (which could be £1k per month), resulting in earnings circa £45k pa – £57k pa (depending upon bonus and commission results).

- 25 days holiday which increases to 27 after 5 years service, and 30 after 10 years service.
