About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at Queen Mary University of London. The successful candidate will work on a BBSRC project entitled 'Alteration in bacterial cell envelope structure as the mechanism of antibiotic resistance and cell death', focusing on the physical mechanism of how antibiotic treatments lead to bacterial cell death.
The post-holder will conduct research in imaging, image analysis, mathematical modelling, and stochastic molecular dynamics simulations, and present findings at national and international conferences. They will also have opportunities to develop their ideas through collaborations with different research groups.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in physics, biophysics, mathematics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, or computational science. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in programming, handling large datasets, stochastic simulations, image analysis, and mathematical modelling. Excellent communication skills, time management, and a track record of publications are also essential.
