About the Opportunity

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London. The successful applicant will work closely with Dr. Omer Bobrowski on the project 'Universality in Topological Data Analysis', funded by the EPSRC.

The main goal of this project is to study the probabilistic behaviour of random high-dimensional structures, focusing on phase transitions related to their topology. This research aims to generalise well-known phenomena in random graphs and stochastic geometry, and provide insight into statistical and computational challenges in topological analysis of data.

Research Experience
  • Applicants should have research experience in probability theory and/or applied topology.
  • Expertise in machine learning, applied topology, and/or probability theory is highly desirable.
About the School

The School has an exceptionally strong research presence across the spectrum of Mathematical Sciences. It is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which comprises five schools and two institutes.

Benefits

Queen Mary offers a generous pension scheme, 30 days' annual leave, a season ticket loan scheme, and access to comprehensive personal and professional development opportunities. We also offer flexible working arrangements, campus facilities including an on-site nursery, and a range of family-friendly policies.

This full-time 2-year fixed-term appointment comes with a salary of £42,405 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. The post is based at our Mile End Campus, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equality of opportunity.
