Special Educational Needs Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Loughborough. As a key member of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to children with Special Educational Needs.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks:
- Implement personalized support plans for children with special educational needs, in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCo.
- Deliver individual and group support to children, promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Adapt activities to meet each child's unique needs, focusing on early years development goals.
- Support social and emotional development, encouraging a sense of inclusion and well-being in the classroom.
- Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCo team.
- Encourage positive behavior and help children build essential life skills.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working in an EYFS or Reception setting, particularly with children who have SEN.
- Understanding of the EYFS framework and commitment to early years education.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting young children with varying needs.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff.
A competitive salary based on experience, ranging from £18,000 to £22,000 per annum. A long-term contract with the option of extending or as needed. Opportunity to work in a school with a strong community presence and a supportive team. Willingness to undertake a DBS check through Aspire People or be on the update service.
