About the Role:

Oracle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of effective health and safety policies, procedures, and programs that enable Oracle to protect the health and safety of its employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety strategies, policies, and plans that align with Oracle's business objectives and ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
  • Support the development, promotion, and implementation of corporate EHS programs, objectives, and business plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the health and safety management system and recommend reviews and remedial actions as necessary.
  • Provide expert health and safety advice and support to Oracle's managers and employees to enable them to deal effectively with local health and safety issues.
  • Liaise and cooperate with regulatory bodies and professional organizations to maintain Oracle's progressive health and safety standards and requirements.
  • Adopt quality assurance principles to ensure that health and safety administration systems and processes are robust and effective.
  • Maximize the use of new technology to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of policies and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses and make recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Promote the integration of safety management systems and a positive safety culture, while promoting line management ownership and accountability.
  • Promote the full involvement of all staff in achieving safe behaviors and workplaces.
  • Develop and present training programs to enable managers to effectively fulfill their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Conduct health and safety evaluations and site inspections across Oracle UK, prepare reports, and make recommendations to management on alternative safe methods of working.
  • Be fully conversant with relevant statutory provisions and Oracle UK's processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work within Oracle UK.
  • Support the production of regular performance reports to senior managers and key stakeholders on health and safety management.
  • Support the Regional EHS Senior Manager in creating the annual EHS budget.
  • Work with the global and regional EHS team to provide EHS support as required and share best practices with other sites within the EMEA portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of health and safety experience in an advisory capacity.
  • Formal qualification in health and safety at degree or NEBOSH Diploma level.
  • Working towards achieving Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).
