About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Well-being Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health, Safety, and Well-being Management: Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and well-being policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments for all areas of the organization, including engineering, assets, retail services, and group functions. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safety Inspections and Audits: Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs on health, safety, and well-being for all employees. Provide expert advice and support to ensure a culture of safety and well-being across the organization.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate incidents and accidents, providing reports and recommendations to improve health, safety, and well-being practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with HR and other departments to promote well-being initiatives and improve employee health and morale. Communicate effectively with employees, management, and stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing safety in a construction sector or a similar industry.
  • Qualifications: Professional certification in health and safety, such as Nebosh Diploma or NVQ level 5, IOSH or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Other Requirements: Full UK driving license.
