About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Practitioner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to further their specialist skills in the Mental Capacity Act and contribute to delivering high-quality care and support to vulnerable patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting all staff throughout the trust at all levels to build their confidence and competence with using and implementing the MCA.

You will work closely with clinicians and managers at all levels, providing remote and face-to-face training, devising resources, and ensuring the trust meets the challenges of the MCA in various clinical and complex situations.

This role offers a unique chance to make a real difference in the lives of patients with complex vulnerabilities due to capacity issues, protecting them from harm, receiving correct support, and having appropriate adjustments made to ensure their journey is individualized, safe, and therapeutic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and support training programs for staff at all levels on the MCA.
  • Work closely with clinicians and managers to provide guidance and support on MCA-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development of resources and materials to aid staff in understanding and implementing the MCA.
  • Collaborate with the trust's leadership team to ensure compliance with the MCA and address any challenges that arise.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and its applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
