Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to take on the role of Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) within our team. As an ECP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients presenting with primary and urgent healthcare conditions, working autonomously and independently using specialist skills and knowledge.

About the Role

As a Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner, you will be expected to undertake a range of clinical responsibilities, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral. You will work closely with the Senior Nurse, Lead Clinician, and Clinical Services Manager to maintain high standards of care and contribute to quality and service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work as an Autonomous Practitioner, using specialist skills and knowledge to provide healthcare to patients with primary and urgent conditions.
  2. Provide consistent high-standard, evidence-based clinical intervention and decision making informed by local protocols and national guidelines.
  3. Be accountable for the total episode of care of the patient, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral and discharge.
  4. Work in accordance with the Trust Framework for Advanced/Enhanced Practice, undertaking advanced specialist skills in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients.
  5. Advise patients, their carers, and staff on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
  6. As a Non-Medical Prescriber, prescribe medications in accordance with personal scope of practice, national guidelines, Trust policy, and service protocols.
  7. Act as a teacher and mentor for all grades of staff, especially trainee practitioners, and work with other staff and agencies to promote the practitioner service.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a relevant healthcare qualification, such as a nursing degree, and have experience working in a clinical environment. You must also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
