We are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator to join our team as a Two Week Wait Management Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the rapid referral process, ensuring data quality and accuracy, and providing administrative support to the Two Week Wait Management Team.
Main Responsibilities
- Prioritize referrals using initiative in the interpretation of National and local referral guidelines.
- Undertake data input into hospital database systems in an accurate and timely manner.
- Book appointments in accordance with cancer referral guidelines and departmental protocols, and produce patient appointment letters and notifications.
- Liaise with GPs and primary care staff regarding inappropriate or unclear referrals, maintaining a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
- Track referrals, ensuring progress through the referral system.
- Take steps to ensure breaches of waiting times targets are avoided and highlight problem areas to the Clinicians, Service Managers, and the Two Week Wait Management Team as appropriate.
- Be proactive in meeting the demands of the service, including working in close liaison with the Two Week Wait Management Team, including deputising for the Two Week Wait Team.
- Maintain effective communication channels when dealing with telephone calls and queries from medical and nursing staff, other departments, and patients by ensuring that all are dealt with in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Liaise with the Two Week Wait Team Manager to ensure education and training is updated and participate in training and induction of new staff.
- Represent the team and attend relevant meetings as required.
- Undertake any other duties that are deemed necessary by the Two Week Wait Management Team.

- A level / NVQ III or relevant equivalent training and experience gained in administration post - for a min of 2 years.
