About the Role

The Isle of Man Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Policy and Legislation team. As Head of Policy and Governance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our legislative agenda, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure that our policies are effective and aligned with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of our legislative agenda, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure that our policies are effective and aligned with our strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Senior Leadership Team on policy and legislative matters, ensuring that our policies are informed by the latest research and best practice.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments, external organizations, and community groups, to ensure that our policies are informed by a wide range of perspectives.
  • Manage and lead a team of policy professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and expertise needed to deliver our policy objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest policy and legislative developments, identifying opportunities for the Isle of Man Government to influence and shape policy at a national and international level.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of leading policy and legislative teams, with a strong track record of delivering policy objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
