Ashford Borough Council is committed to preventing homelessness in our community. As a Senior Housing Officer, you will play a vital role in advising individuals and families who are at risk of losing their homes or already homeless.

In this challenging role, you will require strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to different audiences, and a practical working knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation. You will work closely with external/internal agencies to identify housing options available for the public and empower them to prevent homelessness.

Your key responsibilities will include creating action plans, analysing complex legal and financial information, researching and interpreting legislation and case law to prevent homelessness, and ensuring the Council meets its statutory functions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, Localism Act 2011, and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Salary: £35,151 (estimated based on location), plus lease car cash alternative of £2,000 per annum.
