Senior Metrology Specialist - Electrical Calibration

About the Job

As a Senior Metrology Specialist - Electrical Calibration at BAE Systems, you will work within the ICS Electrical team, supporting 30,000 pieces of equipment annually. Your role will involve performing high-end calibrations and repairs on electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out high-end calibrations and repairs on TMDE, ensuring accurate results
  • Develop and deliver on-the-job training and experiential learning for team members and apprentices/graduates
  • Act as a deputy to the ICS Electrical team leader, overseeing people, resources, and workflow
  • Create and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Participate in quality audits (UKAS/ISO 17025) to achieve UKAS signatory status
  • Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders on instrumentation/calibration matters
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in precision electrical calibration/metrology laboratories
  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent academic qualification
