About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our Major Project team in delivering project and business objectives within their portfolio. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a team of project managers, framework coordinators, and construction managers to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of project managers, engineers, frameworks coordinators, and construction managers to deliver large-scale programmes of work.
  • Manage and coordinate a team to engage with supply chain partners and build long-term strategic relationships with clients.
  • Take ownership of projects within your portfolio, including P&L responsibility and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, method statements, risk assessments, COSHH, and EHS processes.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits on site with your team and monitor Environmental, Health & Safety performance within the group.
  • Provide support and guidance to your team in developing and maintaining project programmes and build a close working relationship with the sales division.
  • Contribute to regular operational reviews and conduct regular business reviews.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of project/operational management experience in the construction industry, with a strong M&E background.
  • Ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient at analyzing data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience working across multiple projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and strong people skills.
  • High level of commercial acumen, with responsibility for managing a P&L within a large organization.
  • Experience of managing H&S in a construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK approximately 20% of the time.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of decarbonization measures, such as installation of ASHPs, Solar PV, LED lighting, and BMS optimization.
  • Experience working within the healthcare or rail sector.
  • Experience within the Building Services industry, familiar with processes required in installing various mechanical, electrical, and fabric measures.
  • Willingness to learn and develop (career development opportunities available).
