About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the Director of Digital Services. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our digital services and drive innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of our digital strategy, ensuring alignment with our overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the management of our digital and data services, including the provision of high-quality, safe, and effective information systems and digital infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with senior clinicians and managers to deliver complex digital transformation programs, including the development of Electronic Patient Records and related systems.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Proactively seek out and develop digital solutions to maximize financial efficiency across the organization.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and leadership of our Digital and Data Services team, ensuring it is appropriately resourced and managed to deliver our complex agenda.
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.

We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide services from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. Our services include radiology and pathology systems, shared care records, and collaborative systems across the region.

We are a busy district general hospital, with over 503,342 patient attendances in 2022/2023, ranging from simple outpatient appointments to major cancer surgery. We are committed to delivering safe, kind, and effective services, and we are seeking a leader who shares our vision and values.
