We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Company Secretary to join our Governance function at Taylor Root on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a strong possibility for permanence and presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the firm's long-term strategic goals.

The successful candidate will report to either the Co-Sec or Chief Risk Officer, providing comprehensive secretarial support to the Board and Executive Committee. They will act as the lead regulatory and governance expert for the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), ensuring compliance and effective governance practices.

Our firm operates on a hybrid working policy, with a flexible schedule that balances work and personal life. The successful candidate will be expected to work from our office for three days a week, with Wednesday designated as a team day.

This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of the Financial Services industry and exposure to the FCA. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in Financial Services, with a strong understanding of the FCA and its regulations
  • Immediate availability and a short notice period
  • Managerial or supervisory experience, with a proven track record of leadership
  • A thorough understanding of the SMCR and its three tiers, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
