About the Opportunity

The Consumer Finance Counsel will play a critical role in supporting Barclays' Unsecured Regulated Lending team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide expert legal guidance on financial services lending and payment products, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with business stakeholders to drive strategic objectives. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
  • Representing the bank in legal proceedings related to consumer banking.
  • Creation and periodic review of Legal documents in accordance with contractual arrangements policy to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

What We Offer

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified lawyer - solicitor or barrister.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, good legal drafting skills, and an ability to translate legal analysis into pragmatic, commercial advice.
  • Experience in consumer credit law and regulation.
