Exciting Opportunity to Make a Difference

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Children's Residential Worker to join our team at Briar Children's Home in Wakefield. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting two children in a loving and homely environment.

About the Role

This is a part-time position that requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You will need to be organized and confident in interacting with children and young people, with a strong focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support two children in a residential setting, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the creation of a warm and welcoming home environment.
  • Participate in shift patterns, including weekends, sleep-ins, and Bank Holidays.

Requirements

  • NVQ3 / Diploma in caring for children and young people or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and ability to transport young people.
  • Previous experience of autism, SEN, trauma-informed practices, therapeutic caring, and connective parenting is desirable.
