**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled and caring Residential Support Worker to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a Casual Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of children and young people in our care.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people in a residential setting
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of children and young people
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each young person
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the residential service

**Requirements**

  • Hold a NVQ3 / Diploma in caring for children and young people, or be willing to work to achieve this qualification following appointment within two years
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends, sleep ins, waking nights, and Bank Holidays
