**Job Summary**

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Children's Residential Worker to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people aged 9-17 years old.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the daily needs of children and young people, including their physical, emotional, and educational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the creation of a warm and homely environment, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met.

**Requirements**

  • Hold a NVQ3 / Diploma in caring for children and young people, or be willing to work towards this qualification within two years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, sleep-ins, waking nights, and Bank Holidays.
