About Home Instead

At Home Instead, we're dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. As a Live-In Carer, you'll play a vital role in helping our clients maintain their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalized Care Support: Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their hygiene and dignity are respected.
  • Medication Management: Oversee and administer medications, helping clients stay on track with their prescribed regimens.
  • Emotional Support: Offer companionship and engage clients in activities that boost their emotional well-being and enrich their day-to-day life.
  • Meal Preparation: Plan, cook, and serve nutritious meals tailored to the client's dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Household Management: Provide light housekeeping, such as cleaning and laundry, to maintain a safe and clean home environment.
  • Mobility Support: Assist clients with mobility, including the use of aids and supporting transitions between positions (e.g., from bed to chair).
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate with healthcare professionals, care managers, and family members to implement personalized care plans.
  • Health Monitoring: Keep track of clients' health and report any changes or concerns to care managers or medical professionals.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies, deliver first aid, and contact the appropriate services when needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: While prior experience in live-in care or healthcare roles is beneficial, it's not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to foster meaningful relationships with both clients and their families.
  • Patience: The ability to manage difficult situations calmly and empathetically, offering steady support and reassurance.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adjust to changing client needs and work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Driving: A valid driver's license is desirable but not mandatory.
