Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant with Academics Ltd. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, learning disabilities, and SEMH needs.

You will be responsible for providing individual support to students throughout the school day, encouraging them to maintain focus and work towards achieving independence and life skills. You will work closely with the support staff and on-site professionals to develop a deep understanding of additional needs and how to support children facing challenges while in education.

This role requires a graduate who can work under their own initiative, demonstrating emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in seeing pupils succeed. You will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience working with a singular student on a 1:1 basis, alongside a specialist SEN Teacher and a second SEN Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing individual support to students with complex needs, learning disabilities, and SEMH needs
  • Encouraging students to maintain focus and work towards achieving independence and life skills
  • Working closely with support staff and on-site professionals to develop a deep understanding of additional needs

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in a relevant field such as psychology or criminology
  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in seeing pupils succeed
