Job Description

Administrative Officer

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a highly organized and meticulous Administrative Officer to provide administrative support to a local Secondary School in Chichester. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the school office and supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Administrative Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the SLT and other staff members.
  • Manage incoming calls and correspondence, demonstrating excellent telephone manner.
  • Maintain and update school records, databases, and filing systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of school communications.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, events, and appointments.
  • Handle inquiries from students, parents, and staff efficiently and professionally.
  • Support the organization and administration of school activities and programs.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the school office on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated high level of competency in ICT.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL.
