Job Description

The Education Authority is seeking a motivated and experienced Classroom Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing essential support to teachers and students in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Support students with special educational needs, providing tailored support and assistance

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six months' experience working with children in a formal learning environment (school, nursery or playgroup)
  • Hold either a Level 2 childcare qualification as approved by EA or have a minimum of 1 year's experience of working with a child/children in a formal learning environment
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems, including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and/or C2K schools IT systems

Desirable Criteria:

  • A minimum of one year's experience working with children with special educational needs
  • A minimum of six months' experience working as a Classroom Assistant with children with special educational needs

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000, depending on experience.
