Overview of the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Lead Psychologist to join our team in the Children and Young People's Gender Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with exceptional leadership skills and experience in working with children and young people with gender diversity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of psychologists, providing clinical supervision, and contributing to the development of evidence-based services.

About the Team

The Children and Young People's Gender Service is a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist assessment and treatment for children and young people with gender diversity. We work closely with families, schools, and other agencies to provide a comprehensive service.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To lead a team of psychologists in providing clinical assessment and treatment for children and young people with gender diversity.
  • To provide expert clinical supervision and guidance to junior staff.
  • To contribute to the development of evidence-based services through participation in research projects and service evaluation initiatives.
  • To work collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to ensure seamless delivery of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology (e.g., DClinPsy or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, schools, and other agencies.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of evidence-based psychological therapies.
