Job Overview
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking a highly skilled Practitioner Psychologist to join their Women's Health Psychological Services (WHPS) team. The successful candidate will work alongside a multi-professional group of psychologists, psychotherapists, and counsellors to deliver quality psychological care in various sub-specialities, including maternity, neonates, reproductive medicine, and gynaecology services.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological assessments, consultation, and short-term interventions to women and partners where needed. They will work within two sub-specialities of the service: 1) The paediatric and adolescent gynaecology (PAG) MDT (differences of sexual development: DSD) and 2) Reproductive Medicine.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate must be qualified to use the protected title of Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist) with the HCPC. They must also have experience of working in a multi-professional team, providing short-term interventions to women and couples, and working with people who are socially deprived and disadvantaged.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have a Honours degree in psychology or related disciplines, and a Doctorate and/or PhD level in clinical/counselling psychology. They must be registered with the HCPC to use the protected title of Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling). They must also have experience of working in a multi-professional team, providing short-term interventions to women and couples, and working with people who are socially deprived and disadvantaged.
Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate will have advanced professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other health professional staff. They must also have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to communicate effectively in a caring non-judgemental manner.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the risk of infection to self, colleagues, patients, relatives, and visitors is minimised by adhering to Trust policies and guidance on infection prevention and control.
