About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your physiotherapy career within a well-established and dynamic physiotherapy service working across Northwest Surrey.

The team are looking for an existing band 6 physiotherapist looking to build on their skills through this post.

Main Duties of the Job

As a physiotherapy specialist, you will be responsible for managing your own patient caseload and being responsible for a defined area of service, working without direct supervision.

You will independently perform advanced assessments of outpatients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions to provide a diagnosis and deliver an individualised and specialised treatment programme of care.

You will work across the local community to provide a specialist service to patients in pulmonary rehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities

  • To work across the local community to provide a specialist service to patients in pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • The post-holder will be a member of CSH Respiratory Care Team providing a high-quality pulmonary rehabilitation service.
  • To be the lead Pulmonary Rehabilitation team member for a designated pulmonary rehabilitation group working in conjunction with the Highly Specialist Therapists and Nurses for the whole of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service.
  • To independently perform advanced assessment of outpatients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions to provide a diagnosis and deliver an individualised and specialised treatment programme of care.
  • To manage own patient caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service, working without direct supervision.
  • Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and competency assessment, appraisals, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review.
  • Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is always available.
  • To use evidence-based principles/current best practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with freedom to act on own interpretation of data.
