The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing the planning and delivery of planned highway maintenance work across the city with the support of colleagues.

The role involves:

  • Coordinating road resurfacing projects
  • Overseeing patching work and road markings
  • Ensuring effective highway drainage systems
  • Leading winter maintenance operations
  • Collaborating on preventative maintenance activities, including surface dressing, micro asphalt, and footway slurry seal

To succeed in this position, you should have appropriate qualifications and/or relevant technical experience in project managing highway maintenance activities. You should possess the confidence to work independently while being able to collaborate with a team, supervise contractors, and address issues and enquiries related to the work.

This role is suitable for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with previous project management experience and the ability to find solutions to encountered problems. We offer training and mentoring opportunities, making it essential that you have a positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to succeed.

The post requires occasional site work and may involve working outside normal hours to oversee work, for which enhancements are payable. You will also need a valid UK driving licence and be required to use your own vehicle for work-related purposes, with mileage paid and parking provided.

We offer an excellent rewards package, including flexible working, flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.
