Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

At Burton Albion Football Club, we are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to spearhead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting of the club, ensuring we achieve our short and long-term objectives.

About the Role:
- Finance/Business processes – ensure the Club can facilitate significant annual growth.
- Governance - ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect the Club and its assets.
- Internal and external reporting to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial planning, budgeting, cash management and financial forecasting of the Club.
- Ensure that the Club complies with the financial aspects of all relevant legislation and governance.
- Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities across all areas of the Club.
- Actively contribute to the leadership of the business as a key leadership position.
- Providing financial analysis, focusing on long-term returns to shareholders, in support of strategic initiatives.

Requirements:
- Significant post qualification experience in a senior accounting role.
- Proven track record operating at a senior level supporting a fast-growing organisation.
- Ideally you will have proven experience in football, but we will consider candidates coming from other sports.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
- Strong financial, accounting, technical and managerial skills.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with a proven ability in relationship building, collaboration across functions, and conflict management.
- Resilient, flexible and a positive attitude.
- Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls – able to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks.
