Facilities Officer Job Description

DP World is seeking a skilled Facilities Officer to join our team at our Regional Head Office in London. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our office facilities, including coordinating maintenance services, managing waste and recycling, and providing health and safety support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate facilities services to ensure the effective running of the office, including managing contractors and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
  • Assist with the health and safety induction of new employees and provide ongoing health and safety advice to staff.
  • Carry out health and safety procedures, including risk assessments, manual handling, and VDU safety.
  • Manage the collection and disposal of waste and recycling, ensuring compliance with WEEE regulations.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on office equipment and appliances to reduce repair times and costs.
  • Support the Office Manager with office changes and projects, including planning, scheduling, and task management.
  • Ensure proactive and reactive maintenance is carried out efficiently.
  • Supervise the cleaning contract and staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
  • Maintain fire and emergency equipment, including the evacuation chair, to comply with current legislation.
  • Control outgoing post and ensure staff are aware of last post collection times.
  • Manage stationery stock and replenish as needed.
  • Assist with relationships with lunch providers and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide out-of-hours support for the Office Manager, including building power failures and critical equipment support.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in coordinating facilities/maintenance services in a corporate business/office environment.
  • Highly motivated and able to respond to and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH and/or BIFM/WIFM are beneficial.
  • Strong personality and ability to effectively manage outside contracts.
  • IT literate and excellent communication skills.
