Business Development Executive

Our client, a leading provider of oil distributors in Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to join their team based in Derry/Londonderry. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary of £25,000 negotiable (dependent on experience).

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of existing commercial customers, identifying potential new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and prospecting. You will also be responsible for understanding the competitor market to support the business strategy for product pricing, ensuring the company remains competitive in its sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of existing commercial customers
  • Identify potential new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and prospecting
  • Understand the competitor market to support the business strategy for product pricing
  • Regular telephone communication with potential or existing customers, processing orders, and recording and updating records and data
  • Utilize relevant online platforms, industry associations, and social networks to identify new leads
  • Assist the Marketing Department in any promotional or general marketing activity
  • Liaise with the Sales Director to ensure maintenance of pricing policy
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities and forecast to the management team
  • Liaise with other departments, such as Commercial/credit control/dispatch teams, to ensure the commercial customer/order and business needs are met
Requirements:
  • Sales and Business Development experience with a minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar role
  • Strong commercial focus with the ability to manage the process from lead generation to sale closing
  • Knowledge in CRM software, e.g., Microsoft Dynamics (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly motivated and results-driven
