Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Strategist to lead our finance team in setting up a professional and compliant finance function. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills at a group consolidation level and proven experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full ownership of the financial processes and controls
  • Development of comprehensive documentation of policies, processes and procedures for the finance and admin functions
  • Building close working relationships across the wider team
  • Review of management accounts and investor reporting figures
  • Lead relationship with statutory auditors and other third party professional advisers
  • Full ownership of all global tax activities
  • Responsibility over global expansion and compliance
  • Cap table management, including complex loan and preference share transactions

What You'll Bring:
  • An accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong technical skills at a group consolidation level
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • 'Self-starter' - highly organised, proactive and efficient
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in life sciences, ideally in a global biotech that has transitioned from pre-revenue through to commercialisation
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • 'Roll up your sleeves' attitude - willingness to get involved with any business needs even if they don't fall directly within the scope of the role
  • Netsuite system experience is desired

About the Company:

My client is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company that has recently completed a significant fundraise to continue with the clinical development of a groundbreaking drug. They are entering an expected period of growth over the next few years as they work together readying the business and team for bringing their potentially best-in-class treatment option to the market.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Strategist to shape the department at both strategic and operational levels, with a salary of £75,000 - £90,000 plus bonus (up to 15%), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 2:1 matched pension contributions, flexible hours and the role is remote but the successful candidate must be willing to travel to Oxford for occasional meetings.
