About this role

As a Social Worker with the Department of Corrections NZ, your primary objective is to foster and improve the well-being of individuals under our care. Collectively, we are dedicated to delivering culturally safe practices and approaches for those in our care.

This role requires a Social Work qualification recognised by the Social Workers Registration Board NZ, with a preference for candidates holding a post-graduate degree in mental health.

You will need experience in utilising trauma-informed practice models and working with at-risk patients. Building effective working relationships with a diverse range of people to achieve work goals is a key aspect of success in this role.

  2. Ara Poutama Aotearoa Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to tangata within corrections facilities across Aotearoa.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).
