Firearms Licensing Administrator Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and organized Firearms Licensing Administrator to join our team at Dorset Police. The successful candidate will provide administrative support for firearms licensing services, ensuring that all applications are processed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process firearms licensing applications and flag any concerns or suspicions of potentially criminal activity.
  • Maintain awareness and update knowledge in the area of Firearms Legislation and changing processes and procedures.
  • Provide customer-focused support for telephone enquiries and respond to queries on all aspects of firearms licensing.
  • Manage and process payments for certificates.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute high volumes of mail and email.

Requirements:

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Firearms Legislation and procedures.
