Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Firearms Licensing Administrator to join our team at Dorset Police. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the firearms licensing team, ensuring that all firearms licensing applications are processed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process firearms licensing applications, flagging any concerns or suspicions of potentially criminal activity to the Supervisors.
  • Maintain awareness and update knowledge in the area of Firearms Legislation and changing processes and procedures.
  • Provide customer-focused support to callers on all aspects of firearms licensing.
  • Manage and process payments for certificates.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute high volumes of mail and email.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of Firearms Legislation and procedures.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
