The role of Group Accountant is a pivotal position in ensuring consistent and compliant accounting practices across the group. As a key member of the global finance function, you will drive high standards and support regulatory compliant accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Manage the preparation and delivery of the group consolidated and subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • External Audit: Support the management of the external audit process, relationships with the audit team, and internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to deadlines and successful delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Capture areas for improvement during audits, make recommendations, and roll out new processes, controls, and initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the CFO and GFD in ensuring regulatory compliance and providing technical guidance and recommendations for accounting treatment and areas of judgment.
  • Revenue Recognition: Support compliant accounting and documentation of revenue recognition across the business.
  • Cash Forecasting: Contribute to the group cash forecasting process and support improvements in working capital management.
  • Finance Policies: Review, monitor, and recommend improvements to the group's finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Tax Environment: Ensure a compliant and well-planned tax environment, including R&D, Transfer Pricing, Thin Cap/CIR, Deferred Tax asset, VAT, and employment taxes.
  • Insurance Reviews: Manage requirements for the annual insurance reviews.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform ad-hoc tasks and support required by the GFD, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Technical Experience: Strong technical experience within financial accounting and tax, within a global group business.
  • Financial Controls: Experience in developing and implementing financial controls and processes.
  • Private Equity Experience: Experience of working in a private equity or venture capital-backed business would be an advantage.
  • Microsoft Skills: Advanced Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
