We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Specialist to join our team in the energy industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for solving complex materials challenges and providing innovative solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess materials degradation risks and improve the lifetime of operating nuclear power plants
- Develop new applications, methods, and testing procedures for manufacturing and welding of future reactors
- Collaborate with designers and manufacturers to solve problems and implement solutions in materials compatibility and fabrication
- Support the UK Submarine and Nuclear New Build programmes, or enable one of many renewable energy projects across a growing carbon net zero portfolio
- A degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Corrosion, or other relevant mechanical engineering disciplines (or equivalent work-based experience)
- Demonstrable work experience in solving materials, manufacturing, welding, and corrosion challenges in the nuclear, conventional power, or offshore industries
- Demonstrable work experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports relevant to the role
- Comfortable with engaging with existing and prospective clients, working at their sites, and investing time in understanding their issues, goals, and processes
