Advanced Materials Engineer – Ceramics and Composites

About The Role

The National Composites Centre is a world-leading research and development centre, working with a wide range of inspiring partners to support the future of composites in industry. As a Ceramics and Composites Engineer, you'll be a vital member of our Advanced Materials team, leading the UK's mission to bring composites to extreme applications such as nuclear fusion, sustainable aviation, and hypersonic flight.

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our research team at various levels of seniority. Depending on your experience and qualifications, you could join us as a Research Engineer, Advanced Research Engineer, or Principal Research Engineer. We are specifically looking for:

  • Ceramics: You have experience working with ceramic materials and have knowledge of their properties, benefits, and limitations.
  • Composites: You have an understanding of the materials theory and practice of composite materials, can understand the challenges faced in novel applications, and have a passion for delivering new technology.
  • Industrial focus: You've put your knowledge to the test in an industrial setting or have worked in research and development in an industrial environment.
