Special Needs Teaching Assistant Opportunity

TimePlan Education is working with a specialist school in Camden, seeking dedicated and compassionate teaching assistants to support complex young people with Autism and additional needs. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of young people, promoting their inclusion and acceptance in a supportive school environment.

As a teaching assistant, you will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, providing essential support to pupils in the classroom and other learning environments. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Attending to pupils' personal needs, implementing personal programmes, and providing social, health, physical, and behavioural support.
  • Supervising and supporting pupils to ensure their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils by acting as a positive role model and responding to individual needs.
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encouraging and supporting pupils to develop their independence, as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with the team to manage and support pupils' behaviours of concern.

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism and additional needs is essential.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team and contributing to a supportive school environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Must have a Team Teach Level 1 or Level 2 Qualification or be willing to participate in the free training provided by TimePlan Education.
